Fifteen
followed through – hooray! My tactic should definitely be to not talk to a guy at all in order to get him to call
me…I’m going to struggle with this concept.
Three
days after I gave him the note at the coffee shop and he sent me the text, Fifteen called me to set up a time to
meet; it was seriously a three-minute conversation of hi, how are you, do you still want to meet. We made arrangements to meet the next
evening after work at a nearby bar.
A few minutes after I arrived, a beardless Fifteen walks up to me.
Me:
Hi! I’m pretty sure you had a beard when I saw you a few days ago.
15:
Yeah, I did. I hope that’s not going to be a problem.
Me:
Not a problem at all. (However, I was thinking it probably was the beard that
got my attention, but whatever)
15:
Well, my mom got me a beard trimmer for Christmas, and after work today I
thought I should trim up my beard a bit for the date. (awwww, how
sweet) It turns out the
trimmer she got me isn’t that great.
It took out a chunk in the middle, and I thought I could even it
out. Then it took out another
chunk, and then the trimmer just died.
Obviously, I ended up just shaving it all.
Me:
It would have been hilarious if you had shown up with random facial hair
patches.
Summary: After that exchange, Fifteen and I had
a nice time talking for the next two hours. Then it was time for me to go. He walked me to the bus stop and waited with me until the
bus arrived at which point I told him I had a fun time and gave him a hug.
Conclusion:
He looks a lot younger without a beard.
I didn’t ask his age, but I’m going to guess he’s 24 or 25. We had a steady flow of conversation,
and he seems like a super nice guy.
If we see each other again, great; if not, I still had a good time but
won’t mope. I’m just excited that
I had a date finally! Yay!
Yay for dates! Boo for no date kissing! We need another date so we can get a good make out story.
ReplyDeleteI had to do some catching up! So have you heard from him again? Yay for your first date and for volunteering with Meals on Wheels! Love that!
